AMANDA YEE is a Chinese, Norwegian, and African- American expatriate chef from Oakland, California, living in Berlin. She has worked extensively in both critically acclaimed Californian and Danish restaurants – including Pizzaiolo and Stedsans Rooftop Restaurant – while operating a supper club called Five & Dime. When she’s not cooking, she’s writing, or editing, or curating. In 2020, her first solo book project hit shelves -- Friends: The Official Cookbook (Insight Editions) – and became an instant bestseller. She also contributed heavily to the forthcoming Black Food (Ten Speed), edited by James Beard award-winning Chef Bryant Terry. She and Terry have been collaborating for years; she is a consigliere to his many cookbooks and projects. She was the creative director of his publishing imprint 4 Color. She influences recipe development, styling/aesthetics, editorial, and research. She specializes in recipe development, styling, and editorial.
