Once the fabrication process had been established, the challenge shifted from invention to refinement. Salmon presented its own unique styling considerations, requiring adjustments to the custom mold, ingredient placement, and temperature control to preserve the fish's natural color and delicate texture. Every layer was individually built by hand within the mold before it was carefully removed, revealing a clean, camera-ready cross-section that accurately reflected the product's ingredient proportions. I enjoy projects that demand continuous refinement, where small technical adjustments make a significant difference in the final image.
This project reinforced the importance of creating flexible systems rather than one-time solutions. Although the overall fabrication method remained the same, each recipe required its own adjustments to account for differences in ingredient size, color, texture, and moisture. It strengthened my ability to adapt a proven process while maintaining visual consistency across an entire product line, ensuring each image accurately represented its individual recipe while supporting a cohesive brand identity.
