I baked a Troll themed cake for a Four year old birthday. Instead of using the characters specifically, the client and I went with a more abstract way to show the theme. The cake was decorated in white buttercream and using different piping tips I added different lines in the colors representing the different characters. I added a pink chocolate drip along the side of the cake as well. The "hair" went down the back side of the cake, and a colorful border was added across the middle top of the cake. The cake was chocolate and the buttercream was flavored vanilla. I used my DSLR camera to photograph the cake.

I learned a few new skills when using my camera for taking pictures of food. In particular, food photography in a well lit area does not need a flash. I learned different settings i can use in order to get a desirable photo that is clear and clean without causing any light spots on the food.
