School Lunch, Unpacking Our Shared Stories, is my new book! School Lunch is interviews with 70 celebs and subjects from across the US and 25 different countries about what they had as kids for school lunch. Each story is illustrated with a portrait and a meticulously recreated lunch shot. Celebs in the book include: Padma Lakshmi, George Foreman, Marcus Samuelsson, Obama chef Sam Kass, Katie Lee and more. I tried to cast as wide a net as possible so in addition to celebrities, I also collected stories from everyone from a circus family, a hassidic rabbi, a famous French tattoo artist, to my Korean father-in-law. The stories range from nostalgic to poignant and I think will take readers down a path that is familiar and foreign at the same time.
