Author Amy Jean wanting some simple, low cost illustrations for her series of memoirs and poetry. In her book, Side Steps–Terrorizing Sound Bites, Amy asked for an illustration of great food to go along with her poem about family memories. Food does that. Even if it is a simple, pencil and color style, food can be appetizing and evoke memories of happy times together.
A simple pencil style overlaid with color can be a cost-effective solution when you want to create a lot of illustrations throughout a menu, cookbook or web site. Amy Jean wanted to create a mood for each poem and story. Her memories and thoughts were easily illustrated in a simple style, full of life and color.
