Creative Style
Working on The Jersey Tomato Co. sauces project was a delicious celebration of authentic New Jersey heritage and clean, garden-fresh flavor. This brand was rooted in the legendary quality of Jersey tomatoes. The shoot focused on capturing that farm-to-table authenticity and mouthwatering appeal: vibrant hero shots of the jars surrounded by fresh, heirloom tomatoes (including those iconic big, juicy Jersey varieties), pasta-making scenes with handmade noodles and eggs to evoke homemade Italian traditions, finished dishes like twirled spaghetti on forks, cheesy eggplant parm lifts with gooey pulls, meatball skewers, veggie-packed soups, and pizza topped with melty mozzarella and fresh basil. We incorporated lifestyle elements too—hands holding harvested tomatoes, garden close-ups of plants and flowers, herb bunches, and cozy kitchen setups with garlic, thyme, and olive oil—to emphasize freshness, simplicity, and joy in everyday cooking.
Special aspects included balancing the bold red tones of the sauces and tomatoes with natural lighting to make every pour, drip, and texture pop while keeping the images warm and inviting. We highlighted the chef's signature on labels and the "Fresh from the Garden" story to build trust and emotional connection. Challenges involved styling real, glossy sauces without artificial shine, ensuring ingredients looked peak-ripe, and creating variety across product flavors (marinara, roasted garlic, basil) without repetition.
